Mindfulness is a quality of attention: keeping something in mind, clearly and without grasping. Meditation is a formal cultivation, something you set time aside to do. In the sources the first is one factor among several and the second is a way of developing it; in modern English the two words are used interchangeably, and the research literature uses 'mindfulness' for all three of the faculty, a practice and an eight-week programme at once.
Entries in this library keep the tradition label and the editorial state the source gave them. A record marked as awaiting scholarly review is offered as a lead to study, not as settled teaching.
